Youth are the frontrunners to peace and progress!! As a precursor to the Independence day celebrations, on 12th August which happens to be International Youth Day, DPS Bangalore South in collaboration with OXFAM INDIA and YLAC – Youth Leaders for Active Citizenship launched the ‘EQUALITY CLUB’ comprising of 31 students from grades 9 and 11. Ms Tanvi from the organization had a lovely interactive session with the participants.
The objective of the Equality Club is to familiarize students with the different types of inequalities – economic, gender, religious or otherwise – that exist in society, help build empathy and appreciation of one’s own privilege, and inspire students to take action. These clubs can serve as a great platform for students to build critical thinking, explore challenging societal problems, break stereotypes and gain the skills necessary to take on social leadership.
