The Times Scholars is a national level scholarship spanning rigorous rounds over the course of 3 months. The second edition in 2019 witnessed an extensive participation from 3 lakh+ students across the country, among which the top 200 were awarded Dell laptops and scholarships to Bennett University, New Delhi.
The programme was based on reading 60 articles – ranging from geopolitics, economics, education, space and technology, cultural diversity to editorial pieces – published in the national daily across 10 weeks. Round one comprised weekly online tests which built up to the final online exam.
Top scorers were then selected for round 2 – personal interviews with the regional editors of the Times (to put their holistic development to the test) qualifying which 200 students won the prestigious title of Times Scholar and were virtually felicitated by Honb’l Vice President Shri Venkaiah Naidu.
